"I've been having the best experiences with Vanessa. My husband and I left California September to Olympia Washington. We're on a extended vacation for my husband's health. State Farm took good care of us. Vanessa was so patient understanding we were coming back to California. Needed to make sure my insurance was good here and knowing it was OK to be out of state for and extended time and still be covered. I kept in contact letting them know what's up and Vanessa was always interested with all that's going on. Thank you for always making us feel like family. And also for having such amazing young lady. "I know nothing negative about Lisa, and she has in fact been very nice and helpful since I started with their office a couple years ago for a car and home insurance. It was not easy, with a new car, and selling an old house, and dealing with a new one, in the world where too many of us get frustrated too easily because we are expected to use automated systems, But I mainly write about Lisa’s assistant, Vanessa, who is a breath of fresh air as a lively, intelligent, friendly, helpful person who radiates the fact that she wants to help you, and concisely offers several ways that you can actually understand. She is indeed a delight to work with, and never seems to mind the time I take, and if she treats everyone like she treats me, Lisa could have hundreds of clients who would all be treated very well indeed."

"It's like not having an agent at all, and that's not a good thing. Lisa is unresponsive, no shows appointments and makes it abundantly clear she doesn't care. I emailed her during a stressful claim. Her assistant responded and didn't even cc Lisa. I replied, added Lisa back to the email and asked why she didn't respond directly and again, the reply came from the assistant and left Lisa out of the reply. Will never work with Lisa again under any circumstances."

"I have had the absolute worst service through this office (quick summary: had to wait over 2 months to receive a refund on my prorated homeowners payment despite repeated calls--most unanswered and un-returned--to this office). I have been a customer since 2017 and while I initially found Ms. Elkins-Reuter to be a lot pushier than I would prefer, I did feel my needs were being met. However, this past summer that changed significantly. I paid my homeowners policy a few weeks before selling my house and called the office to inform them of the sale and to direct them where to send my refund check and that I wanted it made out to me only, not to myself and my former partner. Vanessa was very helpful and assured me that that would all be taken care of with no problem. After that, everything went wrong. The check was not made out as she had promised. It took several attempts to get a call back from the office to have the check cancelled and re-sent. It never arrived. On and on, it went. I left multiple phone messages, most of which were not returned. Occasionally, I would hear back from Vanessa, never Lisa, though I repeatedly requested to speak to her directly as she is the head of the office and it was obvious Vanessa did not have the authority to assist me. Vanessa was always polite and did her best to be helpful and I would be temporarily assuaged and tried to be patient and wait for my significant refund check (almost $1800), to no avail. I eventually had to call the 1-800 State Farm number and work with their escalations team because the agent's office would not return my calls or pick up (they did not answer the phone for their own escalation team either). It is quite likely that Ms. Elkins-Reuter had a personal emergency during this time, but the office never changed their outgoing phone message nor made any attempt whatsoever to allow customers to expect an almost complete lack of service--but you can be sure they pestered me to pay my auto and umbrella policies on time. It took over two months for me to finally receive my refund and now that I've cashed my check, I feel safe enough to leave this honest review and change agents. I never want to give a penny of my money to this office again."

We did attempt to have the refund issued only in your name. Unfortunately, when a policy is issued in two policyholder's names we cannot issue refunds in only one name. Requesting that a new check be made in only your name is what caused the delay. I appreciate your patience during this frustrating time and regret that we did not meet your expectations."

"After a year of good service, I’m surprised by how my account was handled by this branch of State Farm. They raised my auto rates 30% without giving me any kind of heads up. When I reached out shocked about the sudden increase, I was told that their email system “closed me out” after I had shared my latest odometer reading, preventing a rate increase notice from being sent (makes no sense - see attached). I was told I should have been notified via mail as well, but when the “mailed” documents were shared with me over email at my request, they were clearly improperly addressed (no wonder I never received them). I can’t believe they would raise rates so much without notifying me, and I’m surprised that having complained about this, no effort was made to remediate. Do yourself a favor and avoid these guys."
